WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE’RE DOING:

The Committee to Protect Health Care PAC is a national mobilization of doctors, health care professionals, and advocates who are building a pro-patient health care majority in US Congress so that we can live in an America where everyone has the health care they need to thrive. In America we share the values that everyone deserves a fair shot and everyone deserves decent health care. If we want to protect and expand health care access, we need to advocate in the halls of power, organize in our communities, and win at the ballot box.

CONFRONTING THE HEALTH CARE CRISIS

In 2020, Dr. Rob Davidson confronted VP Mike Pence on the Trump administration’s dangerous health care policies. This moment highlighted a truth we know all-too-well: Politicians who are bankrolled by insurance and pharmaceutical corporations do their bidding in Washington.

Since this viral moment, the Committee to Protect Health Care PAC has been working with medical professionals across the country to lift up health care champions, fight for health care reform and expansion, and beat anti-patient politicians.

In December of 2020, we were part of the effort to beat Donald Trump and elect health care champions in Colorado, Georgia, and Michigan. At a time when Covid-19 was impacting every American, medical professionals stepped up to support pro-patient candidates and establish a pro-healthcare majority.

Since then, we’ve seen promising progress on health reform in America. As part of the Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare is allowed to negotiate prices for prescription drugs. The legislation also extends ACA subsidies to keep health insurance affordable for millions of families. This is the biggest health care expansion and price reduction legislation since the Affordable Care Act, and we’re proud to have played a part in achieving this progress.

However, there is still work to be done. Join us in protecting and expanding our pro-patient majority in the House and Senate in 2022.
